Michael's 57th Birthday

August 29, 2015, the occasion this time is what should have been Michael’s 57^th birthday.  The 7^th we have had without him.  A day to celebrate his life, while missing him even more on this day.  At Forest Lawn I am surrounded by such an outpouring of love from fans from all over the world.  Some have made the pilgrimage as they do every year and some it is the first time.  I have spent the day before photographing and organizing flowers, hearts, cards, and little gifts to be taken inside Holly Terrace, to be placed near Michael’s tomb. Fans from all over have sent me these hand-made and heart-felt missives to honor Michael on the day of his birth. .  As I photograph these words of love and respect, I am again struck by how strong and wide Michael’s global reach was and still is.  There is so much love, hope and beauty in each one of these messages.  The fans much like the man himself, are very creative and talented.  His inspiration is evident in their words.  He loved them and they love him back…for all time. I am honored and proud to be able to carry these gifts to Forest Lawn on these occasions.  Bittersweet, but lovely.  I hope Michael knows how much we love and miss him.  We will continue to celebrate the day HIS LOVE came in to this world, and we will never stop missing or loving him.  Nor will we forget his messages of peace and love.
